NVIDIA drivers 617.42 and 621.01: two pre-launch recommendations

What each source says

IT Home's report attributes a pre-launch warning to the producer: the team saw instability in some situations with driver 621.01 and preferred 617.42 in its tests. We checked the reporting, not the producer's original post.

NVIDIA's Game Ready announcement recommends its newer driver for the game and lists 621.01. These statements have different contexts and do not establish one best version for every PC.

Checking your setup

• Record your current driver version. If the game runs well, a general recommendation alone is not a reason to change it immediately.
• If problems occur, check the game update, GPU model, graphics settings and newer notices from NVIDIA and the developer.
• Before testing an older driver, check GPU and OS compatibility, use NVIDIA's official download channel and follow its installation instructions. Driver changes can affect other software.
• Compare behavior before and after changes rather than assuming the driver is the cause.

What remains untested

This site has not benchmarked 617.42 against 621.01 in the retail game. These are time-specific source statements, not a blanket instruction to downgrade; newer official guidance needs separate verification.
